Due to new travel plans aimed at discovering more stylish and affordable accommodation options, I won't be able to update the website until December. Feel free to contact me again as of the first of December 2010.

Stay with Style is my brain child. My name is Esther, and I am a travel junk. I have lived in Australia and in Venezuela, and travelled extensively in Europe, Asia, South America and many other parts of the world. My last vacation was in Chile and I currently live in the Caribbean.
But next week: who knows!

One thing I have noticed during my travels is that wherever you go, there are luxury hotels full of stainless steel, designer bathrooms, concealed lighting and music in the elevators. All modern conveniences - and with prices to match.

And, there are always budget accommodations for backpackers, students and hitchhikers: flaky paint, unshaven owners, low prices, but no facilities. No style, no comfort, no character: just a roof over your head, and possibly some unexpected itchy bedfellows.

Much, much harder to find is something in between…

When I travel, I don’t need gilt bathroom fittings, 24 hour room service or fresh towels three times a day. But I DO want a clean room with a view. With furnishings that look as if they were designed to go together rather than as the result of a local jumble sale. With a contemporary look as if the place is meant for me, not for my grandmother.  A hotel that will leave a memory in my mind. Service that is pleasant, personal, friendly. People who enjoy my presence, without necessarily following me around.

In a word: I don’t look for luxury, I look for style.
And let’s face it: it has to be affordable.

I have found a few of such accommodations, and I want to share them with you. Is the list complete? Of course not. Is the information reliable? I sincerely hope so.

So what are these places? Some call them trendy get-aways. Others call them boutique hotels. Or if you prefer: romantic honeymoon havens. Intimate refuges for relaxation. Undiscovered jewels. Whatever. Label them as you will. I just see them as my kind of places, for my kind of people, at my kind of prices. I call them places where you can Stay with Style. And all I can say to you is: enjoy!
